The 18-year-old is the son of Hall of Famer Jim Thome and is one of the best high school bats of this class. Thome is listed as a shortstop but seems likely to be shifted to second base, possibly right away given his underwhelming arm and quickness. In addition to the overall quality of his hit tool, he's showcased solid power potential and improved his speed outlook during his senior season.
