Kuroda-Grauer started at designated hitter and went hitless, but his return to game action for the first time since July 20 was a positive development after he underwent surgery for a ruptured testicle. He likely won't return to the Athletics' active roster this season, though the possibility hasn't been fully ruled out, Martin Gallegos of MLB.com reports. In 16 games at the big-league level, Kuroda-Grauer impressed with a .417/.435/.583 slash line, a homer, four RBI and eight runs scored.

Kuroda-Grauer underwent surgery in late July to address a ruptured testicle, and he's progressed enough in his recovery to be cleared for games. The rookie should return at some point during the final week of the regular season, provided all goes well on his rehab assignment.

The Athletics transferred Kuroda-Grauer (groin) to the 60-day injured list Tuesday.

Kuroda-Grauer will now not be eligible for activation until late September, and it's possible his season is over after he had surgery in late July to address a ruptured testicle. The transaction frees up a spot on the 40-man roster.

Kuroda-Grauer will be eased back into baseball-related workouts after he required surgery July 21 to address a ruptured testicle, an injury he suffered a day earlier when he fouled a ball off of himself. The Athletics aren't putting a timeline on Kuroda-Grauer's return from the injured list, but since he hasn't yet begun a hitting, running or fielding progression, he doesn't appear on track to make it back from the shelf before the end of August.
