Perez did not factor into the decision in Sunday's 6-4 win over the Dodgers, allowing three runs on four hits and two walks with five strikeouts over five innings.

Perez surrendered a three-run homer in the fourth inning but otherwise kept the Dodgers in check, throwing 59 of 96 pitches for strikes with 13 whiffs. While it was an encouraging effort considering he yielded 16 runs over his previous three starts, the 23-year-old has not exceeded five strikeouts in six straight outings. He'll carry a 3.99 ERA, 1.24 WHIP and 155:64 K:BB across 144.1 innings into a road matchup with the Padres next weekend.

Perez (7-11) took the loss against the Mets on Monday, allowing seven runs (five earned) on 10 hits and three walks in four innings. He struck out five.

Perez wasn't sharp during a rare Monday afternoon first-pitch time, surrendering a season-high 10 knocks in another short start. The right-hander is showing real signs of fatigue amid the campaign's final stages, working fewer than five innings while yielding at least five runs in three straight outings. Things won't get any easier with the Dodgers looming for his next scheduled appearance, with Perez now carrying a 3.94 ERA, 1.24 WHIP 150:62 K:BB over a career-high 139.1 innings.

Perez took a no-decision against the Royals on Wednesday, allowing six runs on nine hits and three walks in 4.2 innings. He struck out three.

It was tough sledding from the get-go for Perez, who let in five runs in the opening frame and served up a season-high three home runs after conceding just one in his previous 10 appearances. The hard-throwing right-hander is beginning to struggle on the mound -- he's given up 11 runs in his past two starts after yielding 11 earned runs in his nine outings prior to that stretch. He'll look to bounce back his next time out versus the Mets, still holding a strong 3.72 ERA, 1.18 WHIP and 145:59 K:BB over a career-high 135.1 innings.

Perez (7-10) took the loss Friday, coughing up five runs on two hits and four walks over three innings as the Marlins fell 9-2 to the Nationals. He struck out five.

After two scoreless frames to begin the night, the wheels came off for Perez in the third after he walked the bases loaded, uncorked a wild pitch that brought home the first two Washington runs, then served up a three-run blast to Brady House after another free pass. The 23-year-old right-hander has thrown a career-high 130.2 innings this season, and fatigue could be setting in -- he's issued multiple walks in six straight outings, managing to put together a 3.09 ERA and 1.19 WHIP over that stretch despite a 36:18 K:BB in 32 innings. Perez will try to turn things around in his next start, which is set to come on the road next week in Kansas City.

The right-hander wasn't at his sharpest and needed 100 pitches (56 strikes) to get through the minimum five innings in order to qualify for a win, but Perez mostly avoided hard contact before handing things off to his bullpen. Over six starts since the All-Star break, Perez has put together a 2.25 ERA, 1.11 WHIP and 33:15 K:BB in 36 innings, but he's issued multiple free passes in five straight outings. He'll look to tighten things up in his next start, which is set to come on the road next weekend in a rematch with Washington.
