Davis started behind the plate for the second consecutive game and made an impact at the plate in both contests. He popped his 10th home run of the season Thursday and then provided an insurance run with an infield single Friday. Davis is still having a poor offensive season overall, but he has set career-high marks in homers, RBI and runs scored.

Davis went 1-for-3 with a solo home run Sunday against the Angels.

Davis provided the only run of the game for either team with a solo home run in the third inning. He is working primarily as the backup to Rafael Flores and continues to struggle at the plate, with Sunday's homer being his first since July 12. If there is a positive to take from Davis' season, he has set a new career high in home runs with nine.

Davis is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Dodgers.

After making four straight starts behind the plate from Aug. 8 through Aug. 12, Davis appears to have fallen into a timeshare with Rafael Flores. Davis has started on consecutive days just once over the past 10 games, with Flores' hot bat earning him more opportunities behind the plate as well as at first base on his non-catching days.

Davis will start at catcher and bat ninth in Monday's game against the Tigers.

With fellow backstop Endy Rodriguez (hip) recently returning to the injured list, Davis has re-emerged as the Pirates' top option behind the dish. He'll pick up his seventh start in nine games while the Pirates open up a three-game set versus the Tigers. Davis is slashing just .143/.219/.143 with no extra-base hits, two RBI and two runs since the start of August, so he's not doing much to take advantage of his larger share of playing time.

Davis will start at catcher and bat ninth in Wednesday's game against the Marlins.

Davis will be making his fourth straight start behind the dish while Endy Rodriguez continues to miss time while nursing a hip injury. The Pirates are treating Rodriguez as day-to-day, and if Rodriguez is able to avoid a trip to the injured list and return to the lineup in the near future, Davis will likely see his playing time fall by the wayside.
