Bradford did his part in bulk relief, but the bullpen let him down, costing him a chance at his first win of the season. This was his second scoreless outing in eight appearances (seven starts). He has pitched to a 4.19 ERA, 1.50 WHIP and 20:10 K:BB through 38.2 innings so far this season. It's unclear if Bradford will get another turn through the rotation, though the Rangers will have a hole to fill next week if MacKenzie Gore (shoulder) isn't good to go at home against the Mets. Nathan Eovaldi and Bradford would be the candidates to fill that gap, if necessary.

Bradford (0-5) took the loss Wednesday against the Mariners, allowing three runs on four hits and two walks over four innings. He struck out one.

Bradford gave up a run on a Taylor Ward two-out single in the second inning before Seattle added two more on a Cole Young double in the fourth. Bradford has failed to make it through six frames in any of his last five starts. His ERA now sits at 4.72 through seven outings (34.1 innings) this season with a 1.57 WHIP and 17:9 K:BB. Bradford is still looking to get into the win column, and he is tentatively slated to make his next start on the road in Arizona.

It was the southpaw's worst performance since coming off the IL for his season debut in early August after completing his recovery from an internal brace procedure on his elbow. Bradford has been taken deep only once in his first five starts, but Henry Bolte got to him for a pair of two-run shots in this one, while Zack Gelof also tagged him for a solo homer. Bradford saw his ERA inflate from 3.42 to 4.45 as a result, and through 30.1 innings he carries a 1.58 WHIP and 16:7 K:BB. He'll try to bounce back in his next outing, which is scheduled to come on the road early next week in Seattle.

Bradford hasn't exactly been a strikeout machine -- he's yet to record more than five punchouts in any of his five outings this season -- but this is his first goose egg in the category. With a 13:6 K:BB and 1.52 WHIP in 26.1 innings across his five starts, it's hard to trust Bradford in most fantasy formats, as he's giving up a lot of traffic on the basepaths and isn't recording enough strikeouts to compensate for that. His next start is projected come at home against the Athletics.

Bradford allowed single tallies in the first and sixth innings, throwing 56 of 80 pitches for strikes before departing with a 2-0 deficit. While his workload has been somewhat limited, the 28-year-old has yielded three earned runs or fewer in each of his four starts since making his season debut Aug. 5. He owns a 3.05 ERA, 1.40 WHIP and 13:4 K:BB across 20.2 innings over those four starts and lines up for a road matchup with the Brewers next weekend.
